Besides living the busy, on-call lifestyle of a doula, I am mama to two amazing kids, Milo born in 2004, and Felix born in 2007. I also just completed a traditional surrogacy journey for some friends who asked me to conceive a baby for them. I gave birth to sweet little Ferran over the summer of 2013. Each of my birth experiences have been very different!
In my spare time I enjoy being outside, hiking, biking, and swimming. I am an avid knitter and love spinning my own yarn on my spinning wheel. I have always been musical and love to write songs, sing, and play my guitar. I also really enjoy reading a good book. Life is never dull and I’m usually working on some project, engaging with my kids, enjoying time with my significant other, or getting outside for some fresh air.
I will be beginning my journey towards becoming a midwife in January 2014 when I begin midwifery school through MCU. I became a doula in 2005 with the intention of becoming a midwife someday. I’m looking forward to furthering my knowledge of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, as well as help more families achieve the births they have always wanted. I am very passionate about the work I do in the world. I believe that each family I help to empower and have a positive birth and postpartum experience, will spread more hope to other families in a ripple effect. New families need nurturing, holistic support to thrive. I strive to be that support they are looking for.
Thank you for reading about me. I hope to learn about you too!
